Professional Development
Nationwide Collaboration
With the continuous growth and development of students who went through GEAR UP in mind, we are building a professional development workshop series for alumni. By bringing in partners and experts, we will provide synchronous and asynchronous learning designed specifically to meet the needs of GEAR UP alumni, covering topics like:

Our services are available nationwide to all GEAR UP alumni! We are working to provide seamless high school to college and college to career transition support for alumni in every major city in the United States. Our collaboration with individual programs as well as our GEAR UP partners will ensure that the work we have started in Los Angeles can reach every single GEAR UP alumni who wants to continue receiving support and learning from their peers. Opportunities like national GEAR UP alumni conferences and leadership development facilitate the peer-to-peer networking that our organizations aims to make happen.
Job Listing Platform
The strength and grit that GEAR UP alumni possess are valuable in a multitude of ways to companies and organizations, regardless of the field. To the same avail, the socioeconomic and ethnic diversity that many companies look for can be found in the expansive population of GEAR UP alumni. By developing a login feature to our website, we will curate a selection of job opportunities solely available for applications from GEAR UP alumni to ensure their professional success past higher education.
Legislature Advocacy
Similar to the national organizing body for GEAR UP grants, NCCEP, we plan to mobilize the professional network of GEAR UP alumni to advocate for the expansion of legislative support for educational programs, such as GEAR UP. We know that being GEAR UP students and alumni is a privilege, so we will work hand in hand with other advocacy efforts to grow the number of students served by GEAR UP.
