Committees

Student Engagement

The committee provides additional support to GEAR UP Alumni and students by brainstorming and developing initiatives such as the mentorship pipeline and future projects to ensure alumni feel supported after graduating high school.

Fundraising Expansion

The committee is in charge of planning fundraisers and ways to receive donor funds through grants, partnerships, crowdfunding and micro-donations for scholarships and alumni events.

Communications

The committee is charge of communication for the GEAR UP Alumni Association by developing content across social media platforms, monthly newsletters, and ways to outreach to GEAR UP alumni.

ADVOCATE

Our goal is not only to support GEAR UP alumni, but also use our collective voice as alumni of GEAR UP programs to advocate for more funding and support for low-income and first-generation students across the country. GEAR UP Alumni Association

The GEAR UP Alumni Association is an organization designed to support alumni of GEAR UP programs across the USA. We aim to maximize the potential of low-income, first-generation students from historically underserved areas by supporting them across the college-to-career finish line thus creating long-lasting change for the next generation.
